2-The Blue Nile starts at lake Tana in Ethiopia and flows northwards to Khartoum in Sudan. It contributes 85% of the total water of the River Nile.

The ancient Egyptians sanctified the River Nile and held a great celebration during the month in which the Nile flooded, bringing with it silt and water. They make great procession of the king and senior statesmen to throw a bride of wood to the Nile as evidence of their gratitude for this great Nile.
The ancient Egyptians used to present to the god of the Nile, known as god Habi, on his feast, a beautiful adorned girl who was thrown into the Nile. The myth states that the girl would marries the god Habi, in the other world. However, in one of the years, the only remaining girl was a beautiful girl of the king, so the king was very sad but her servant hid her and made a bride from wood that looked like her, and during the ceremony, she threw the bride in the Nile and returned the girl to the king after the ceremony.
After that, every year, they threw wooden brides into the River Nile on the feast but there is no clear evidence that the ancient Egyptian used human sacrifices.This is just a legend.
